Himalaya Restaurant: Authentic Pakistani, Indian & Nepalese Cuisine in Houston

Great food, and the owner has generally been very polite to me BUT what people say IS true. He is incredibly pushy and always saying to order more food, even though it is always to much. Teh food does make great leftovers for many days, and I would highly recommend the mutton biriyani. Aga's isn't as good but Shiv Sagar (Same Plaza) and Shri Balaji Bhaavan are both great. Don't let the owner mess with you, but great for take out.

Outstanding food! This is a very small restaurant with very big flavors. They will make you want to over eat just like your grandmother would! On a Saturday night they were properly busy. It’s BYoB, so bring a Pinot noir or a rioja, or maybe a grenache and you’ll be ready for anything. We had a biryani, curry, and a meat plate, all was excellent.

Delicious, hospitable and just an awesome experience start to finish. The owner takes pride in his business and you can tell his whole heart is on his sleeve. It was so clear that he loves and values his staff. He came up to us to take drink orders as we arrived and joked with my mom about putting some cannabis in the chai. He was hilarious and very warm. He took our orders and he showered us with free sweets and samosa add ons as we left. What an amazing meal!! Would reorder garlic naan, frontier style goat and the dal palak. As a chef, I see the work that went into the meal we had and it was well worth every bit.

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and amazing food. I visited you back in 2016 with my wife, and we still haven’t forgotten the taste. The warmth and care you showed made the experience even more special. Looking forward to visiting again someday with family.

The hunter beef was nicely done and fried to perfection. They price it by the pound, so you cnt choose the weight of the piece — meaning it’s best to order if you have a big appetite for beef or plan to share with friends and family. Our piece came to $32 and was quite a generous portion. The mustard sauce served with it was absolutely amazing. The chicken kabab platter was delicious, but at $14 for only four pieces, it felt a bit pricey. The haleem was rich, flavorful, and truly delicious. Overall, it’s a nice place to dine in, with a welcoming owner and staff. The environment is clean, cozy, and warm, making it a pleasant spot for a meal

The steak churrasco was superb—tender and richly flavored—paired with a standout chicken curry. While the price tag (two sodas and two dishes $88) is steep, the quality justifies it for a memorable dining experience. Recommend.

Had a great experience at Himalaya. The food was A+ quality, truly reminded me of authentic Karachi desi cuisine. You can tell Mr. Lashkari uses his own fresh spices—flavorful yet light, no heartburn at all. Hospitality was warm and respectful; you give respect, you get respect. Looking forward to our next Houston trip - Himalaya round two is a must.
